So last week at my appointment with my LLND I asked about herbs to help me detox. I mentioned Burber and Pinella. Oddly, she didn't carry those herbs and I don't think she was even considering adding in detox herbs to use along side the Samento & Banderol. She was open into looking into those to herbs and getting back to me!

Today at my B12 shot appointment she said I was right, and it seems a lot of people benefit or something along those lines, with the Pinella & Burber... and she said to me she was like "Jessica was right!!" So she has ordered me these two herbs and will let me know when they come in.

Since I'm not sure she is even that familiar with the two herbs, or how to use them I need to come to you guys!! What should dosage be like for each? Everyday? Do I use both? Do I build up? Use as needed?

Jessica - I don't know if she will be charging you extra for them, but if so - you can order them online. I get mine from iherb.

I take the amounts that is suggested on the bottles.

I use them when I am flaring and herxing. For me that is almost daily.


I also take mine together - both in a quarter cup of water and sip on it - usually takes me about fifteen minutes to half hour to finish it. If Im having a particularly bad time, I will repeat after the first dose.

Wow, a lot of the stuff I buy from my LLND are more expensive than what they are sold for on that site. Thanks for suggesting that site.

You put the burber and pinella in the same cup? Why does it take you a half hour to a hour to finish it? Just by choice? Why not drink it in one go? Lol sorry all the questions.. I'm a newbie on this.

Is pinella and burber like an antibiotic herbal like samento and banderol, or is it different?

They are detox herbs. I don't believe they have any antimicrobial properties. I think you drink it all in one gulp or few gulps, then you're not supposed to eat or drink anything for a half hour. I do 10 drops each (same cup) 2x/day.

It doesn't say to sip slowly, but someone advised me to do it...so you should be able to just 'down the hatch' the entire amount.
I just started doing it that way...and it worked...so just kept on.

Here is a link - Dr. Cowden says you can take both together in one glass. He doesn't say to sip on it though, so it's perfectly fine to just drink it all at once.

No, not an antibiotic....Pinella is brain-nerve cleanse and Burbur is a detox. They help with herxes/flares.

So, part of your 'detox' regimen.

Thank you! I'm excited to get these two herbs in to see if they help with some of my symptoms.


So I can take it everyday and make it part of my daily routine to use in the morning and then night each day to help to manage symptoms or prevent symptoms?

Personally, I don't like it when doctors start picking and choosing from protocols, unless they are looking for something specific to help a patient with a specific problem. To pick and choose different parts of one protocol though, means you aren't getting the "full effect".

Traveler, I think a lot of people and LLND/LLMDs find that a whole cowden protocol is not necessary. And even harsh. Maybe not for some, but certain herbs work well combined together and all are not needed for a recovery. That's what I've come to learn from the boards/groups.

Oh, okay!! That's interesting. I know that the protocols that I used can't be broke up that easily, so I made the assumption that most needed to stay 'in tact' as well.
