Hello Moon61,
Well, 'heavy metals' for me is a rather large topic.
Some doctors and sources on the net talk about
cilantro,
chlorella, charcoal, zeolites and other herbs as chelating
agents for heavy metals. Sitting in saunas is also advised.
I have been tested numerous times and have done
many rounds of various treatments for heavy metals.
The first thing is, have you been tested? Do you know
which metals you are trying to bring down? Did you do a
hair analysis test? A DMPS challenge test? Are you
working with a doctor or naturopath?
There is a book written by Andrew Cutler PhD
"Amalgam Illness diagnosis and treatment." His main
focus in it is on mercury. However, he addresses other
metals and has a protocol to follow using DMSA as an
oral chelating agent. He doesn't recommend chlorella
or cilantro or any of the other popular products. There
is a website or on line support group, frequent-dose-
[email protected] which offers support and
lots of information following his protocol.
I would not just start taking any herbs without
a doctor's help. You could redistribute mercury in your
system if you do not have the right binding agents, or if
your detox channels aren't supported.
Maybe you know all of this already. But in case
you haven't read about
it, I wanted to offer up this
information which has helped me in dealing with my
situation. Good wishes with this.
