I didn't know where else to post this but I saw a lot of others posting about candida posted in the Lyme Forum. For the last 6 months I have had a cessation of my period for the most part and before that was not regular. I used to be completely like clockwork every 28 days. I have noticed over the last year that it is only when I eat no carb, no dairy, low sugar for a couple days that my period will return. I'll go back to eating regular Standard American diet and it will stop. It happen every single time.
Could this be candida related? I know the candida diet eliminates all refined carbs, sugars, yeasts, etc. Has anyone else had this no period thing happen to them? I get feeling so sick after a couple days of eating no carb no sugar that I have to give in and eat breads, cheese, etc. but maybe I should stick it out long term and see if I can heal if it is in fact some sort of candida or yeast thing. I've been sick with all sorts of issues since I had my daughter 8 years ago.

Sorry, do you also have Lyme or do you only have candida? Lyme can affect menstrual periods, I don't know about candida.

I definitely feel that Lyme and co-infections can impact our cycles and hormones. However, I have been suspecting that Candida might have a role here too.

I have had really horrible long and painful cycles. I have noticed the only thing that has helped so far is the pure Nystatin powder (1,000,000 units brought to my attention by Pirouette in her helpful discussions on yeast / fungal issues). It has lightened the severity of my cramps a little. They were so bad that I was stuck in bed for a week. Nystatin can be used for yeast / fungal issues, mold and Babesia. So, it is hard to say for sure. It makes me wonder more now that you bring this up.

I don't know if I have Lyme or Candida. I've been tested at the dr office for Lyme which came back negative but need to do the Western Blot through Igenix. All I know is I've been sick gradually getting worse for the last 8 years and no doctor can figure out what's wrong with me. I've noticed this correlation between eating no carbs/dairy/sugar and having my period return. I know this type of diet is helpful in ridding the body of Candida, among other things. This makes me think my various symptoms could be Candida related. Some things get better when I eat better (pvcs lessen, period comes back) but other things get worse. Maybe something dying off?
I don't know how you would even test for Candida. Just wondering if others had had the same experience and maybe knew what they were dealing with. I'm kinda stuck doing my own research cuz Drs can't figure it out 😖😖

If you're progressively getting worse, I would highly recommend seeing an ILADS trained Lyme Literate doctor ("LLMD"). We can help you find one. You can start a new thread "Looking for an LLMD Near" Insert Your Area. It would be a good idea to get the Lyme IGM and IGG through Igenex.

A good LLMD will diagnose and treat you based on symptoms. It sounds like you could very well have Lyme if you're getting worse and worse. Lyme tends to do that. Have you ruled out other stuff?
