So the past..... I don't know couple weeks I've stopped puking as much. Until yesterday. I'm on abx (clindamycin and rocephin IV) and have to infuse benadryl first. I learned that benadryl works on nausea so that would explain why I'm not puking as much during the week.
I have Saturday and Sunday as my off days and holy cow!!!! It hasn't got any better. I switched nausea medications again and they aren't working as well as I thought they were apparently. I keep puking up my SUPER expensive probiotics. Being on clindamycin it's extremely important that I get enough probiotics. I do not need c diff on top of my laundry list of cap that's wrong. Ugh!!!!
It's beginning to feel like I've tried everything. I drink and eat ginger like it's going out of style. I've done pills, homeopathics, suppositories and every single natural remedy I've heard of. It's very stubborn. The dissapointment of taking something (even 25 MG of promethazine!!) and it not working is just plain sad.
My esophagus and mouth are raw and burnt from my stomach acid. My chest and stomach muscles are soooo sore from dry heaving. I see dollar signs going down the drain. I don't look like myself. I'm sunken in like a skeleton with skin pulled over it. I'm smaller now than before I had my son. Oy....
I did gain 4 or 5 pounds back this month. So that's something. And if during the week it's better and I just have to deal with it on my off days then that is still improvement. As the next few weeks pass I'm sure this will start turning around. A friend told me that I'm probably at my worst right now, and I really want to believe her. It has to go up from here. If this is the worst I can certainly deal with it. The improvement is so gradual it's sometimes hard to appreciate it.
If anyone has ANY suggestions for nausea and vomiting PLEASE let me know!!!!!

IHL!!!
Hang in there… you really are doing great. You're just in a crappy rough spot.
First, you aren't really vomiting much of the IV abx so unless you are ingesting abx by mouth, you are not tossing them up. Not saying they don't reach your stomach but it's a lesser amount of what you're infusing. So you can relax a little about
that.
I am learning more and more about
some of my GI issues that started way back when I started taking various abx for chronic sinusitis, bronchitis and upper respiratory infection that lingered for 13 months (turned out it was a fungal infection, which is why none of the abx helped). But about
midway through those months and months of various courses of various abx, I started having my severe cramping and vomiting episodes…
My theory on that is—the abx did address some sort of infection going on in my gut and the die off was causing the vomiting or it stirred up the infection, not really addressing it… because I had those episodes once a month for over a year after I started on the abx. OR, the abx stirred up the Bartonella in my gut, causing increased bell's palsy in the gut, etc… and the vomiting episodes.
Regardless, after a couple months of the IV abx, those episodes are gone.
I was given Zofran (Odansetron), metoclopromide, which helped. Not sure if you've tried them.
The rawness from the acid has to be miserable. If you can. try to drink some WARM—not hot herbal tea (mint is so good for nausea) w/ a couple tablespoons of coconut oil or raw butter in it. Something to coat… There are also some spray stuff on the market antiseptic topical treatments for sore throat that might help for a few days.
So… stick with it. You'll probably get past this phase in a week's time. If not, time to talk w/ the doc again… let us know how you're doing!

I'm not worried about
puking up abx. That's impossible. It's my supplements and probiotics that suck to see going down the drain. The only thing that for sure sticks is what I put through my iv. I just worry that without the other stuff it's that much harder to heal.
I drink a lot of tea. Manuka honey seems to coat everything and provides some relief for the rawness.
If in a couple months I'm not vomiting like this I'll be happy as a clam!! I don't think it will even take that long. For now if it's only 2 days out of the week- that's a huge improvement!

OOHH… OK - I read that wrong. Yes, the supps and probiotics are vulnerable but most supps get digested within an hour, if that makes any difference. The probiotics, they need to stay in there for awhile… so just keep shoving them in if you can tolerate it. Maybe cut doses in 1/2 or less and take them more frequently…?
the tea and manuka honey is perfect.
I don't think it will take a couple of months to get past this stage, either. You really should see some impact in a couple of weeks max.
BTW, when you're done w/ treatment or at least in a more reasonable stage… you should think about
documenting your story. Like many of us here, you've had a very, very interesting journey that the world should learn about
. But yours has been particularly crazy. ;)

Lol I'll need help remembering it all. I swear I have amnesia!! It's unsettling to me that my "story" is especially crazy. My doctor says the same thing. He called me his problem patient and told my mother in law he's never seen someone with my head and digestive issues. He said he's never seen anyone with bruised eyes and cheeks from headaches. Not very reassuring lol.
Just goes to show that Lyme is crazy in and of itself. It manifests so differently for everyone. If sharing my story would help others I'd gladly do that. I've blocked a lot out. It's weird but sometimes no matter how hard I try to remember things I cant. It will be interesting to read my old posts when I'm better.
I really like the probiotics that some in sachets. It's powder and I mix it in with water or a shake. It just seems like my body can absorb it faster because it doesn't need to dissolve a capsule. It's supposed to be the best one to combat c diff. Which being on clindamycin I can definitely use all the help I can get.
I keep thinking I'm getting c diff everytime I have bad nausea or stomach cramps like this. Paranoid!!! Keeps me out of trouble being paranoid though. I make sure to do certain things that way lol.
How are you p????

Blocking things out is a great coping mechanism. That's a good reason to journal every day… think about
it, feel it, process it, and move beyond it. That way you won't have to remember it—it's documented. I have no doubt you will help others by sharing your story.
I'm doing a little better than I've been the past couple of wks. My regular cycle. ;) THanks for asking…

She's been "journaling" with me though - LOL!!! We have most of her experiences in print since talking on the phone is so hard for her right now!!
This will serve as IHL's reminder to look at our emails and messages!!
