Advice for 16 month old son

Hoping for some advice for my 16 month old son. He developed a rash of 8-10 red spots (some on head, some on arms and legs) a week after we spent a weekend in upstate NY at a lake. Some of the spots grew to size of a nickel but never a bullseye. Pediatrician thought it was a hypersensitive reaction to a bug bite. A week later he developed a bullseye type rash on leg (not sure if it is from one of the original spots) so going back to pediatrician today. I tried to paste photos below but not sure it worked, does it look like a tick bite? Can anyone recommend a pediatric LLMD in northern NJ/NY area (we are willing to travel)? Thank you

So sorry to hear about your son!!

That is a classic bulls-eye rash which is diagnostic for Lyme. He should be started on antibiotics immediately.

More likely than not, the pediatrician won't prescribe adequate doses for the appropriate amount of time but I suggest you fight for *some*thing.

And, to get the largest number of responses, I suggest you start a new thread titled something like this: "Looking for a pediatric LLMD in northern NJ/NY area".

I'm happy to see that you have your email enabled because this will allow members to contact you directly since we don't share doctors' names/contact info in the open forum for privacy reasons.

Thank you for your quick response, that is what I was afraid of. Really don't want to put him at his age on antibiotics for so long but I know that is what we have to do. Will push pediatrician for this and hopefully find a good pediatric LLMD in the area quickly- will start a new thread.
