I am having muscle weakness in the arms, legs, and my neck is very tense... are these symptoms lyme related?

How much is a basic Lyme panel through Igenex, like just igg and igm? I am thinking this is the only way I can tell if I still have Lyme :-/

Tbohl,

If you read the post "New to Lyme?" you will find a list of symptoms. Stiff neck is a classic sign and muscle weakness also goes with the territory.

I think Igenex lists their tests on their website. I know they are very helpful and friendly if you call them.

I had extreme muscle weakness the first time around. I was in remission for a long time. This time it is more in my joints and I get muscle knots. When these knots build up, and my arm gets stiff until they are worked out by the massage therapist (or me, if I can reach in there). It is so different than before.

Don't let yourself get anxious. These symptoms can be transient and can subside with treatment.

tbohl - After you've been in treatment, doing another WB test will not show if you still have lyme, or if you've healed.
If you still have symptoms, you still need treatment...you treat until symptom free and then a couple months longer.

Or, have you never done a test before...and haven't started treatment yet? If that's the case, then the Igenex WB would be helpful.

The IgM and IgG price - $210 for both (unless they've gone up since last February.

I have done treatment but mostly zithromax, then Amoxicillin and two weeks of doxy... I had a naturopath tell me through muscle testing that I didnt have Lyme... but candida, I really am unsure if I should go on Doxy now if I have bad candida. But i've taken GSE and herxed from it. I have had a wb done only through quest (3 of them) im just thinking is the muscle weakness from lyme or something else... I did have a bad case of it last winter when I started treatment again

According to my LLDO, Candida goes hand and hand with Lyme.

If you have Lyme you need a Cyst buster. Amox and Zith take care of two of the forms, but the Lyme bacteria hides itself as little cysts that most antibiotics can touch. But cyst busters can really make you herx.

This document will help you understand what is needed. There are herbals for each. One doc told me that antibiotics are the synthetic products of what we have naturally in a controlled form. Sometimes the herbals work better.

Also, the muscle test will sometimes only see the dominant infection. So you may still have lyme but the candida is worse.

Not sure if you saw, but we discussed muscle testing in this thread.

My daughter's neck stiffness is helped by green tea or Barqs root beer ( which I hate to see her use). It's the caffeine that helps and the herbal is an an antioxidant blend. She only uses the root beer when she's doing really bad and she doesn't drink it all at once. She chooses the herbal most of the time. It's not a cure, but does give her relief.

She has weak arms and couldn't build up muscle there, but now she is able to more than she has for a long time, so something changed in her.

Strangely caffeine has helped me also!!! Thank you all so much, I have come to the conclusion that I still have Lyme... Im having blood work done this week so we will see if anything else pops up
