Buhner herbs for young child

Hello again everyone!

I have read Buhner's book but I'm curious about any experiences using the herbs with young children...?

I've seen in comments on Buhner's website he mentions using astragalus (which I ready use for my son), cats claw, sida, knotweed, and teasel safely in children and just cutting the dose based on weight - so my son is 3 and weighs 33lbs so I cut it 1/5 the adult dose.

I am interested in using crytolopis with him as well as the others mentioned...? Anyone know if crytolopis is safe for young children?
Also, should I limit him to 2-4 herbs at a time and then rotate? I don't want to overwhelm his body. But if I can give him a wider range of herbs together I would like to.

Currently, we are treating him with abx, nystatin, and small amounts of a few different herbs, probiotics, and chlorella. He has this deep nasty mucous filled cough that keeps coming and going, but when it comes it takes forever to go again... That his only remaining sx.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Im really hoping to get my baby back to 100%!

Anytime we travel (especially fly) it comes back within 5-6 hours after our flight. I used to think he just picked up a cold, but I am doubting that now. Thoughts on that? Maybe he is getting sick after travel each time due to his immune system being suppressed by the Lyme...

Hi Delmar! I do not have any experience with treating children. But, I have used buhner's herbs and have some experience with them.

I believe the 1/5 is the maximum dose for a child weighing 30 lbs. You need to start very low...as in a drop once a day.

The best person to talk to is Rowingmom - she succesfully treated her daughter - although her daughter was older than 3 when she was on the Buhner herbs - she is very knowledgeable about the herbs and dosing.

This will bump your thread up...and maybe Rowingmom will be on today...

Thanks Girlie, yes, I always start with one drop and work up to 1/5 the adult dose with any herb not specified for children.

I'm just not sure if there are any I should NOT use for a 3 year old...?

Delmar - you can go to the Buhner website and put your question for each herb in the search bar there.

So, he is saying crypto is okay for children...maybe try a search for all the herbs you are curious about?

Girlie has given you good info.

I can't really add anything to that because K was older and 85-95 lbs during treatment. You could try to contact Julie McIntyre; she knows pretty much everything about the protocols.

My son is 8 and about 75 lbs., and takes this (from Infuserve America) 1 tsp. 3x day.

He's tolerating it well, but just the past few days it seems symptoms are creeping up.

He's also on azithromycin and mino. and mepron.

I was wondering about children doing artemisinin, I think this is next for us.

Good luck, it's a big decision when it comes to our precious little ones I know.
