I've been doing yoga since 2007 or so. It has definitely helped me a lot. I think the postures help to keep things fluid and assist the body's detox processes. Hot yoga is also amazing, especially if you don't sauna at all, it really detoxes you quite similarly. Yoga also helps a lot with the mental aspects of the treatment, I feel like it grounds and stabilizes me when I'm herxing and feeling rough.
I've noticed that as I've gotten better from Lyme slowly my body has gotten more flexible and strong and just feels better week by week. Yoga is a good way to tune into things and get a better sense of treatment progress by listening to your body more closely.
That said, certain kinds of yoga can stress your hands/wrists especially if you have issues there from Lyme. Best to avoid the Vinyasa / Ashtanga styles if you find this to be a problem.
Nowadays I mostly just do classes on
www.gaiamtv.com/. There are some great instructors on there. I think it's probably ideal to go to an actual studio to learn the poses though if you're completely new to it.
