Source for organic herbs not made in China?

Hi folks!

I'm using Mountain Rose Herbs to source some of the herbs I want to use to make tinctures but, there are many herbs I want that they don't seem to carry.

I know Buhner recommends 1st Chinese Herbs but, much of what I need isn't available in organic...or, if organic, the stuff comes from China.

Can anyone refer me to a Buhner-recommended source for the following:

Ashwangandha root

Kudzu root

Chinese Sinega (Polygala) root

Smilax/Sarsaparilla

Scutellaria baicalensis (Chinese Skullcap) root

Stephania (preferably tetrandra) root

1st Chinese Herbs seems to sell Plum Flower brand for many of these and they are supposedly GMP certified but I'd like some reassurance "from the field" :)

And, what about the various mushrooms? Lion's Mane, Chaga, etc. Do we need to be concerned whether or not they come from organic sources?

There is a chaga mushroom brand from minnesota, (its a small company). If cold temps do infact make better chaga (?), these probably are be the coldest exposed Birch grown chaga in the lower 48 states.

Their website is partially complete, the bag label says "Up North Organics"

Have you checked into the online stores that are listed in the 'New to Lyme?' thread yet? For instance, I found 3 ounces of cut/sifted certified organic Kudzu root for $3.50 (+ shipping) here: www.elkmountainherbs.com/acatalog/Medicinal_Bulk_Herbs___Natural_Ingredients_A_F.html#aPueraria_20lobata

What it doesn't say though is where it's sourced from, so you would have to contact them.

There are a handful of companies listed that you can check with, plus I'm sure that others like Astroman will be along to give you more ideas!

Thanks for the mushroom info, astroman! It's very helpful.

And, thanks for the reminder about the info in the "New to Lyme" thread. I was using Buhner's lists that are on his Facebook page.

After you linked Elk Mountain Herbs, I realized I forgot about the way they list the herbs. I totally missed a bunch of them sigh.
