iI use the Prescript
-Assist, as it was recommended quite frequently, when I was doing my research on histamine intolerance, due to the reactions I was, am, having to foods. I don't know how well it's working. I haven't gotten candida issues, or, if I do, they haven't worsened at least. It's in that price range, and is one of those the manufacturer states does not need to be refrigerated. I've been cautioned against those sorts in the past, understandably so, but, for some reason, I believe these guys. It might not be giving me health, but I don't feel like it's allowing much to be taken away, at least as far as my gut goes. If only it'd stave off the Lyme and whatnot. ha..
Before that, I was on Garden of Life's Ultimate Defense (80 or 100 billion per pill), but I read that a number of the strains in them could actually be contributing to the problem by feeding some of the bacteria likely responsible, the ones that create histamine, which sucks, because what got me started on it in the first place was Pirouette's praise, and, I don't know if you're aware or not, but she's dealt with about
the worst of the fungal stuff. So, her knowledge and opinions on the stuff are worth some weight, at least to me.
Another example of good things being bad things, depending on the person and their issues.
Another thing, in my mind, it's just so hard, trying to treat and/or prevent imbalances of flora with these probiotics, no matter how good. Some people manage alright, but it just seems so sketchy, being that there are, what, I forgot the number, a few trillion bacteria in the GI tract, tons of strains, it seems so sketchy that these pills, powders, with a few hundred billion CFU and, the most I've seen, around 20 strains, are able to keep things in check.
I guess I'm no scientist though. The term CFU, colony-forming units. I suppose that means they stand to make more than the few hundred billion, if the environment's right.
Anyway, yeah. Prescript
-Assist. Though, I plan on adding another in someday, when/if I get on a better healing regimen, one that works for me. I've read that it's good to have two solid ones to cycle, with as differing strains as possible. Makes sense, kind of. But, as it is now, I have kind of given up, until I see how things go with the LLMD.
Maybe I'll go back to the Ultimate Defense? *shrugs*
Oh, forgot, the Nystatin, as has been mentioned to ya, you definitely want the powder. Pure powder. I seem to remember P or someone else mentioning that some has filler in it. What, exactly, I can't remember. I know they said it's bad though. So, yeah, make sure it is the pure.
But.. good luck. Apologies for the troubles. :(
