So I think I may have found something that works for my rash flare ups (knock on wood). I don't post here much anymore as for the most part I am back to being normal (I plan to post my success story when I am off meds), but one of my few remaining symptoms is a recurrent rash at the site of the tick bite. It's like clockwork, every 2-4 weeks it flares up. This is the one symptom that has not even diminished since starting treatment. Really strange.
Anyway, I have used a face soap since college called Cetaphil. It is an antibacterial face soap and it was originally recommended to me because I played a lot of tennis and my dermatologist recommended it for after a tennis match, but I have used it ever since, every single morning. about 1.5 months ago during a rash flareup, I thought maybe I would try washing the site with this soap (antibacterial, right?). Within 20 mins of application the flare up started to shrink and the itchiness passed. I have had 2 flare ups since and each one is less severe than the previous and for each one I now apply this soap. Yesterday was my most recent rash flareup, and without even applying the soap the flareup was hardly noticeable (I still applied the soap, though). By far the least severe I have had. This is a great sign (again, knock on wood).
Maybe it is a coincidence with my ongoing treatment, but maybe not. All I know is that the past 3 flareups have been way less severe than the previous. . .
