Welcome icthus!
So sorry for the reason you're here but glad you found us.
And, I hope you don't mind that I put a subject to your thread - it will get more attention that way.
Unfortunately, your story is all-too-common but, there is still hope for healing.
Another moderator, Traveler, healed from a 40-year set of infections. She, too, was so ridden with toxins (aka inflammation) that she spent a good amount of time (I think 6-12 months) detoxing in preparation for treatment.
Perhaps your LLMD isn't familiar with all the various methods of detoxing - many of which are listed here:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlSomehow, your LLMD's assessment seems extreme and I wonder if he/she is ILADS-trained. (ILADS = International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society....they are cutting edge for Lyme diagnosis and treatment).
I invite you to read our "New to Lyme? Start Here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum. In it you'll find symptoms lists, detoxing suggestions, diet suggestions and more.
In fact, you'll find some suggestions for questions to ask a potential LLMD. If, after reviewing that, you find that perhaps you don't know the answers to those questions as they might pertain to your LLMD....it might not be a bad idea to ask him/her....or get another opinion - preferably from an ILADS-trained LLMD.
In the event you might want to get that other opinion, you could use the physician referral feature on the ILADS site:
ilads.org/ilads_media/physician-referral/And, if you'd like to see if other members can recommend LLMD's, please start a new thread titled "Looking for LLMD in (insert larger city near you)" and be sure to enable your email option via your profile so members can email you directly.
For privacy reasons, forum rules prevent the posting of doctors' names and contact info (as well as personal email addresses).
You are far from a basket case. You have an infection and need proper treatment. We'll do whatever we can to help you along the way. After all, we're all in this together.
