Guys,

Just curious. I know fever is something we lyme ppl don't develop easily, so i just wanted to see if you guys do get fever once in a while. Dunno, when you have the flu, a cold, or from the disease itself ? Does the thermometer say you run a fever ?

I'm asking because i never do, i sometimes feel feverish, never develop real fever.

I had fever back in march of 38,4C.When I got one of the colds that ruined my remission.
Normally my temp is 35,7C and I am shivering.

I'm hover around 96-97. When I started the DesBios therapy, after the 3rd day, I ran a fever of 99. I was so excited, but it only lasted 2 hours and that was it. Hard to believe we can beat this if you can't run a fever. Very depressing. I'm feeling hot and feverish all the time but my skin is chilled to the touch. I think its the lyme trying to trick you so you wear less clothing. I take my temperature in the bathtub and get it up to 100.

I have always registered under normal body temperature, unless I had the flu, then I would have a fever.

October 2014; before I was diagnosed with Lyme, I felt so sick and constantly shivering. I took my temperature daily for a couple of weeks. My thermometer read 96.4F- 97.7 degrees F. I thought my thermometer was broken, so I had my husband use it. He was at 98.4F. ("Normal 98.6F")

I personally think that I have had Lyme for 27 years that was always misdiagnosed as something else.

I have now 35, 7 C and shivering under 2 comforters with a thick pijamas and socks on. This will last a few hours and then subside. Can you tell me please what coinfection makes this? Bartonella or babesia?

When I first was bit (not knowing it was lyme) I went to the doc with ears ringing, head pain and swollen lymph nodes in my neck. They took my temp (99) and he diagnosed me with a sinus infection. I didn't argue and took the Z-Pac prescription. It did nothing, but my temp went down to 97 and now that is where it resides even when I feel chilled or feverish.

Hi Finisulua 17!

I have overgrowth of Candida, hypothyroid, and of course Lyme.

All of these "wonderful " things can lead to a lower body temperature. Lyme bacteria don't like to get warm, so I think that is why you have a lower body temperature. And that shivering is sometimes our bodies way of trying to warm up and regulate our temperature.

As far as co-infections , I am not sure which ones can contribute to this. My LLMD suspects that I have Babesia and Bartonella.

This is so confusing trying to figure all of this out.

Thank you LB. I had bartonella confirmed by DFM. I am so wondering about babesia. I just hope my body tries to survive.

mpostelnicu - both Babesia and Bartonella will result in "fevers of unknown origin". Have you been able to rule those co-infections out as a possible cause of your fever?

That's the thing, i never run a fever. I do feel feverish sometimes but thermometer thinks otherwise. I do have Bartonella (Quintana), no Babesia, although this bug is so elusive that the LLMD treats me for Babesia nevertheless...

all my life I only got a fever a few times, but would be sick anyway. -

however, as LB said it right - candida keeps your body temp lower, and lyme does like "cold" environments

when i was the most sick with lyme and bartonella I had a regular temp of 99.3 - and I was severely sick.

Thank you all for the replies. I am also curious , among people that consider themselves "cured" if they have started getting again a fever when they have the usual cold?

It's still unclear to me how this affects the immune system of a person or if the status is reversible to some extent or creates permanent damage.

I can track my beginning of lyme symptoms with the decline of my body's ability to produce fever, i've always gotten a bit sick once per year with a bit of fever. Not any more, if any i am hypothermic...
