I was just yesterday prescribed malarone and azithromycin for babesia. I began the treatment today. I took the azithromycin first, and then the malarone two hours later - with food.
Within fifteen minutes my stomach was bothering me, with a strong urge to use the bathroom. I took a pro-biotic and the symptoms resolved themselves.
That was three hours ago and I feel fine. So now when I take my daily dose of malarone, I am going to take a pro-biotic fifteen minutes after it.
Hope others find success with this method. The meds seem to be working, even though it is the first day. My sweats, chills, headaches, nausea, loss of appetite and head pressure appear to have lessened some.
Hope this helps. I think pro-biotics are the new and upcoming anti-biotic. For the gut, anyway.
Next week I am going to add cryptolepis, and the week following artemisinin - each for thirty days.
