There's a link but i don't think it's that obvious. If you look at this 2007 study, it's clear the people with these weird neurological disorders have systemic infections, but not one, several. Mycoplasma being VERY common, as well as some viruses. Probably if you get one combination of these + some bad genes from your parents => instead of chronic lyme disease you get a) ALS, b) MS c) AD e) PD depending on how old/lucky you are...
www.immed.org/neurodiseases/sibi.myco.clam.borr.neuroms.als.bhavdis.pdfLet's think a bit what Lyme disease really means: have you seen one single guy here sick only with just Borrelia ? Is there anyone on this forum just with Borrelia budgorferi, one strain ? NO, you see people with 6-8 species of systemic infectious agents (bacteria and viruses). However if you search the dictionary for "Lyme disease" it says "an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Borrelia Budgorferi". Really ?
So then what is the meaning of studies showing "no connection between lyme disease and AD/ALS/MS" when the dictionary definition for "lyme disease" is completely wrong ? Nothing, just waste of taxpayer $.
