Anyone Use sida acuta yet for bartonella and babesia.

How did it go?

I am on them for bart, along with JK and Houttuynia, plus Rifampin and biaxin.

For me, they are well tolerated. As far as symptoms, it's too early to tell, as I just recently started adding the herbs back into my regimen - and am slowly titrating up.

Are you going to add the other herbs? (Cryptolepis, JK, Houttuynia) - and I recommend Hawthorne for the heart and blood vessels - as Bart really likes them.

I've been taking sida acuta since mid-July as part of Buhner's full Babesia and Bartonella protocols.

I herxed quite a bit when I first started and just got up to the full 1/2 tsp TID dose this week.

While I can't credit any specific herb, I am improving.

Both K and I used sida acuta at a rate of 1/4 tsp 3x daily when we started using Buhner's herbal protocol for bartonella. Neither of us herxed to a significant degree with it, not like we did with houttuynia. After some time at this dosage I noticed our hair starting to become greasy and thin. Decreasing the dosage fixed this problem.

When we started using CSA for babesia, Julie suggested only using the sida that was included in the combination tincture and not to add more. So now we are using 12 drops CSA (so 4 drops of sida) 2x daily as a maintenance dose.

I did not do well with Sida. I would have to check my notes but I think I got up to about 5 drops 3 x's a day and I got heart flutters. I quit it and did something else. My heart has been involved from the beginning. The first day I went to the doctor he put me on blood pressure medicine because my bp was so high. When I flare or herx, haven't figured out which I am doing. I'm petty sure it is flares, my bp will go sky high again. So I think I am the "may cause" person in their warnings.

I've been taking Crypto (30 drops 3x/day) and Sida Acuta (15 drops 3x/day) for about 2 months now. I think the Sida is causing some stomach issues so I cut back to 10 drops 3x/day. Can't say I've noticed much from them because I didn't introduce them individually but with a switch in abx protocol. I've heard from my LLMD that Crypto has had the most success with his patients for what that's worth.
