Have any of you found one that is lead free, with proof? I've been looking at many over the last 2 days and only came across one that is lead free, since the insert is stainless steel. Some say the glaze on the ceramic insert is lead free, but if the pot gets a crack, it should be thrown away since the lead would leak out of the crack. The steel one is a multi use product, but that isn't needed.

California warns people if the lead is too high, which is less than the FDA says is ok. Either way, the lead still accumulates. I may just have to get the steel one and warn my daughter that pressure cooking isn't healthy.

I have a slow cooker in the garage somewhere. I hated leaving it on when I wasn't home, so it just wasn't getting used. I have never had a pressure cooker. My girlfriend has one but she is single and gets home and wants quick roast beef and poof! she has it. I just like my roast beef to fill the kitchen with its smell and that of the garlic I put into it.

speaking of California. I found a label on my Green Vibrance and it said that it contained something bad for me. I called and asked them what it was and they said arsenic. She said that they have to put that sticker on the containers sold in California because the standards for California are higher than the rest of the country.

That's great. Someone said that on Amazon, they will put a warning under the description of the item if it is higher than CA standards, but I didn't see that on any of the cheaper ones or others for that matter, so maybe they quit doing that since I haven't found it on any, not ever the red ones since they use lead to get the red coloring.

I've used mine a lot and it's probably not a good choice. It's the crock pot brand. I bought it several years ago, never giving lead a thought. So much for health bone broth!
