So hard to tell infections apart! I read this article and the lingering symptoms after "successful" treatment for Ebola:
Joint pain, eye problems, short term memory issues etc.

I remember Dr. K says in one of his videos that he believes Lyme has a viral and a fungal component and that's why the abx don't work by themselves to "cure" someone.

As I look back on the stories of the people who were on the early seasons of the tv show Survivor, I think of the health issues that they all have to this day, and wonder about those bites they got in those tropical lands.

I feel like it shows how important a functional non suppressed immune system is to fighting off even the strongest pathogens.

cd, the cytokine cascade is responsible for many of our issues.

I understand this and truly believe that stopping the cytokine cascade is a big aspect of healing. It's not the only aspect but an important one.

Epigenetic changes occur to lessen the damage due to the depletions, Once the epigenetic changes occur, it is more difficult to "right the ship" so to speak.

Mainstream medicine just doesn't seem to do much to address depletions and that is clearly a problem.

When I read the article, all I could think was "Why" those patients have the same issues as post Lyme patients. It goes along with what I've been saying the entire time.

Buhner agrees with you and I think that's why his protocols are so effective.

cd, the cytokine cascade is what saves us from harm, but it's also what causes us harm in the long run. What we need to do is figure out how to either rid our body of lps containing pathogens. We need to take away their food supply, take away their environment to thrive, or through direct assault and their destruction. They just hide too well for us to do that at the present. I've shown that in me, eating a certain way will take away their environment to thrive. Unfortunately, that's all I've got.

Happy, I am beginning to think that we need to replace the minerals/vitamins that are difficult to replace. Trace minerals, specific metals, and some divalent cations all need to be looked at. I think we all need different things. I responded well to lithium, iodine, molybdenum, manganese, and copper. These also cause problems for many people. I think at certain points in our treatment, we tolerate them better. A good example is manganese. Manganese is needed to help detoxify ammonia. That is great, we should all take manganese then. WRONG! Manganese also decreases BH4 levels so it can be very bad for some people. Copper is the same way.

When I was sick, the things I tried and took to get better didn't help. I decided to try what other people didn't try and what people like Terry Wahls tried and got better. I went outside the box and studied how and why I was having problems. The pieces of the puzzle fit together for me and the things I did finally worked. Increasing divalent cations helped as did iodine and lithium. I know iodine and lithium aren't to be taken lightly. There is huge potential for harm. I only took them for a short time and it seemed to jump start my system back up. I don't micromanage my system any longer because I'm better, but I know how to do it if I need to.
