Do you have out-of-network coverage with your insurance? (as in, it's not a HMO plan)
If you do have out-of-network coverage, you can more likely than not submit the doctor's bill for reimbursement.
You would need to be aware of any deductibles on your policy because that will affect the amount of the reimbursement....as will the insurance company's declaration of "reasonable rates".
Thorough and accurate diagnostic coding on the doctor's part goes a long way towards maximizing reimbursement. If you paid for service received, you should be reimbursed accordingly.
