there is a difference between metabolic syndrome and metabolic disease. cancer is being regarded more and more as a metabolic disease, and less of a genetic one, in that it is directly affected by what we eat and what we do not eat. there is evolving research that proves fasting weakens cancer cells, because they are being deprived of glucose. normal, healthy cells have the ability to turn to fat stores for energy when deprived of glucose, but cancer cells do not have this ability, which is why they become weakened when deprived of it. chemo is then able to kill off the weakened cells. there is also evolving research that sugar actually feeds cancer. that has been a myth for ages, but now scientists are proving that it is actually true.

lyme and bartonella researchers are now terming these diseases as AIDS-like and cancer-like, due to their ability to proliferate and remain in the body a long time, as well as the manner in which they adversely affect the immune system. sugar also weakens the immune system. studies have shown that it takes seven hours for the pancreas to fully metabolize just one teaspoon of sugar.

it is the same with lyme and bartonella. many lymd drs strongly advise their pts to refrain from sugar and gluten, as they feed the diseases. they also advise their pts to limit their dairy, because casein causes inflammation, which in turns slows down the healing process, and allows the diseases to pervade in an unhealthy environment. if you have lyme and /or bartonella, do you not notice how your body becomes flushed and overheated every time you eat sugar and/or gluten? if not, then refrain from eating these foods for a few weeks, then drink a glass of soda or eat a piece of cake, and see how your body reacts. it will cause the disease(s) to go on a feeding frenzy.

The bottom line is this girl has not been receiving proper treatment from day one - i can gather that just from what she has posted at the bottom of her page. i live an hour outside of manhattan, and searched for months for a competent llmd in the five boroughs and long island, and could not find anyone.

everyone i know who lives in this area and is afflicted with these disease either travels up to ct or down to the dc maryland area. i have spoken to several people who went to the dr on park avenue, and none of them were happy. if they were i would have gone there myself.

as far as lymenyc's supposed llmd, having worked for a law firm as well as in the medical field, i cannot tell you how impossible it is to be able to find a doctor guilty of malpractice, to revoke his state license, and to ban him from practicing medicine. yet, the state of ct has managed to do this with her llmd. that is just the tip of the iceberg where he is concerned.

she needs a new llmd - period. she has been neglected by the medical community. a competent llmd will be able to tell on her first visit if she has solely lyme, or if she also has bartonella and babesia. lyme and bartonella can also present with ms-like symptoms. neurolyme can cause lesions to form on the white matter of the brain that strongly resemble those from ms, but it takes a well-trained and discerning neurologist to be able to tell the difference.
