First of all, I have to admit that I took a look at your test results - but I couldn't make heads or tails of them because they are in another language!! LOL! And, even though I can't read it, I'm sure there's a lot of personal information on there, so it would be best for you to either take another picture of your results with your personal information blocked out, or just remove that link.

A borderline positive test for Lyme disease most definitely means that you need treatment, and treatment for Lyme is very long and drawn out. You have to think of it in terms of a marathon instead of a sprint, like treating most infections would be. The Lyme bacteria only come out into the blood once every 4 - 6 weeks to multiply, instead of every few minutes or hours like most bacteria.

I'll let the others that know more about the abx (antibiotics) that you were prescribed talk to you about them. You do have choices though. There are many that heal from these infections using herbs or natural protocols all the time - I'm one of them.

I see the WB Borellia IgG says something other than negative.
What does that word translate to in English? Indeterminate?

I was recently on Rifampin and minocycline to treat the confection Bartonella.
From my readings, Rifampin can be hard on your liver...but for me it's been okay.
Minocycline - because of its ability to penetrate the blood/brain barrier - can cause some CNS side effects.

All antibiotics are hard on the gut...and particularly if you already have leaky gut.

Please take good probiotics - daily. I take mine twice or three times daily. I also take several different types.

The ELISA misses approximately 75% of those that actually have Lyme disease though, so don't worry about having a negative ELISA.

A borderline WB is noteworthy though. A person simply can't have a borderline result without some Lyme specific band being present usually. Can you get a hold of the paper that states what bands on the WB were positive? That would tell us a lot more.

Also, your symptoms will tell a lot. Have you had the chance to go through the "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum yet? In it you will see the 'Lyme Disease master symptom list' - do you see all your symptoms listed in that post? That will tell us even more than the tests.

I have positive IGG in WB Borelia Garinii ...

And would like to ask you. On antibiotics now my hormones slidly improved:

1. Improved my T4 - T3 conversion
2. My testosterone went up a little

Why does this happen on antibiotics? Is it trully confirmation that my borelia is causing my hormones to decline?

Sorry for the reason you're here but glad you found us. You've been given great information already.

Lyme is famous for disrupting the endocrine system but I wouldn't say your thyroid issues are confirmation that Borrelia is to blame....it's likely but thyroid function is affected by many things - even the weather.

I don't see the reference ranges for your thyroid results but, based upon the values, it's clear to me that your FT4 level is too low. Your FT3 level might have improved but it's clear your thyroid isn't producing enough T4.

Do you take thyroid hormone replacement? If yes, you need a dose increase. If not, it might not be a bad idea to ask to be started on thyroid hormone.

I am not yet taking any thyroid meds. Yes my FT4 is bellow range and FT3 around 40% of the referance range.

I just consider suplementing by Armour. I have talked about it with my doctor and he has gived me a permission to try it.

So I will try it probably this week.

Pepous - Quick question for you. Was the first test you posted about - the borderline positive one - for borrelia burgdorferi? Then you got a positive for borrelia garinii?

Good question. My false. I did a mistake. My only positive band ever was GARINII.

Not Burgdorferi. I probably have read about Burgdorferi too much causing this mistake.

Does that change something?

Just saw this, K07. Yes there is at least one other strains of Borrelia that can turn a WB positive besides burgdorferi. From what I understand, mayonii can cause Lyme like symptoms and positive test results.

I believe that they will admit to more strains causing this, as it's their "easy way out" of a very hotly debated subject.
