I have cedar trees pollinating all around me and I am starting my annual allergy symptoms.

I tried benadryl last night and I think I am too used to it.

So my question is -- do I up the dose of benadryl? Or use an over the counter med?

I am not going to a doctor for this because their modus operandi is nasal sprays and that means steroids.

What do any of you allergy suffers do?

Pre-lyme I was strong enough to handle it with astragalus, cats claw, echinacea and quercetin. Right now I am already taking 2 of those on a 3x day protocol. Should I add the other 2?

Signed stuffy and don't want to get worse.

If Benadryl works well for you as an antihistamine, then I don't see a problem with upping the dose. What dose are you currently taking?

There's no reason to change your antihistamine, IMO, unless it stops working altogether. It's worth trying a higher dose first. I used to take Claritin (loratadine) but became to used to it so I switched to Allegra/Fexofenadine, which I take the 24 hour dose of (works better than the 12 hour).

Thanks Sarahm620. I currently only take the children's liquid amount for an 11year old and it was working great for sleep and detox. Now I have allergies rearing their nasty head and I will go and get adult benadryl since chronologically I am an adult, not so much mentally. LOL!! I think I will get some allegra just in case while I am there.

Have you tried Claritin? It's a 24 hour antihistamine that works well for me. It's the one that is reportedly useful for Lyme at high doses - like 4 or more times higher than normal doses - so it won't hurt!! You will take a low enough dose though that it wont' cause any kind of a herx.

I just ate 3 cloves of garlic, 10 minutes prior did a detox drink - the cinnamon didn't mix very well with just a fork. Now it is nap time. I was up late for me - 9:45 last night because of a board of directors meeting that I have to take notes at...... yaaaaaaawn. I think every little thing pulls my resistance down.

I ran out of spoons..... :(

Another lesson learned....

No. 1 do not run out of herbs!!! Always have bottle no. 2 in the cupboard.
No. 2 do not overdo it. It will weaken your already compromised immune system.
No. 3 worry about yourself and not everyone else or you will be no good for anything!
