All kidding aside....An unengorged tick is just that - an unengorged tick.
I suspect you asked because you were wondering if a person wouldn't have to worry about infection from an unengorged tick.
There's no way of knowing whether or not a tick infects us. Infection can happen within seconds. Latest research is showing that the ticks that infect us are often already somewhat fed....more gifts with the bite - yuck.
I pulled a nymph deer tick out of my abdomen. It wasn't engorged and I had no symptoms until after I started prophylactic treatment.
