Just saw this article in Huffington Post referencing an article published in the journal Brain. They studied a "chemical" which reduces neuroinflammation and results in less memory and behavioral changes.
The article also states that they believe that inflammation is the cause of the disease rather than cause.
Nothing people here didn't already think, but at least it is out in the mainstream.

(sorry don't know how to make this a link).

So I just had another thought.
Anyone know if they see the same brain inflammation in Parkinson's?
I ask because my uncle has Parkinson's. What made me think of it is that my grandmother (my uncle and my Dad's mother) and my aunt (his wife) both had Alzheimer's.
I heard someone today say that we got lead out of gas and found that it reduced things like headaches and other brain symptoms to be reduced. My uncle owned a home heating business and at the time (and in that area of the country) it mostly meant systems that ran on oil. I can remember my aunt complaining about
how his clothes always stunk. So she came in contact with it daily.
My grandmother worked in a carpet mill and then for many years she was a school custodian.
My Dad and my other aunt and uncle don't show any signs of either condition. Since having family with Alzheimer's puts you at a higher likelihood of developing it, but it doesn't seem to run in my family.
All the thoughts together made me curious.

I'm still stuck on Alan McDonald's studies that Alzheimer's is caused by Lyme, and that is only encouraged by this. Inflammation doesn't come out of nowhere.
