In his new Lyme book, Buhner lists the following for collagen protection:
1 tablespoon daily Great Lakes gelatin powder (he prefers pork)
1000-3000 mg daily Vitamin C (he prefers effervescent powder)
200mg daily Selenium
In his older Lyme book, he recommended 6-10 drops twice daily Silicon (BioSil is one of many brands)
Buhner has an expanded collagen support protocol outlined in his new book on Lyme. He writes: "you can add the following to the collagen support protocol if desired; this full protocol does help considerably; the more damaged your collagen structure are, the more likely you are to need as many of these as you can tolerate taking:
Vitamin B complex daily (should include B5, B6, B12 and folic acid)
400-800 IU Vitamin E daily
25-50mg Zinc 1x daily
2-3 mg Copper daily (unless you have a known copper toxicity problem)
1 tablespoon daily Hyaluronic acid (this can really help a lot)
Bone broth soup: Bones of beef, best but stinky; chicken, pork, elk, bison will all work as well (check online for recipes)
strong infusion of nettle, horsetail, oatstraw, parsley: add 1 tablespoon of each to a quart of hot water, simmer for four hours; drink one quart each day
Echinacea augustifolia (not E. purpurea) 1 tsp 3-6 x daily
Propolis, royal jelly, bee pollen: 1 tsp of each 1x daily (WS organics royal jelly mix contains all three, 1 tablespoon 1 x daily)
Pine pollen tincture: 1/4 tsp 2x daily
Cod liver oil (or its fermented form, if you can take the taste) 1 tsp 2x daily
Pueria lobata tincture: 1/2 tsp 3x daily"
Hope you find something that works for you!!!
