Unfortunately, we will always get statements like this from those that refuse to educate themselves - makes them sound like most of the ID doc's that I've gone to see over the last 45 years!! Don't be mad at them for their opinions, be mad that they refuse to educate themselves and are happy with their head stuck in the sand. This is simply a repeat of history - it was with HIV/AIDS, but it's still the same path.

Not to start any arguments, but hopefully to add a perspective - "Obamacare" or the ACA as it's known, has helped people like me. Chronic Lyme for 40 years - boy oh boy do I have a LOT o "pre-existing conditions" that left me without any insurance at all because for $500 monthly the only thing I got was protection from the hospital taking my house (literally) for non-payment. The deductibles were so high that I could have never ever used the health insurance, at least now, even though I am paying almost $500 per month, I at least have something to hope for in using it. My deductible is over $2,500, but if I had a bad car accident, at least I would be covered. I know that it's not a perfect solution, but it was only meant to be a step in the right direction, it's now up to us to elect those that will push it further down the road so that more people are covered for a more reasonable price. I can't go on paying $500 a month for a health insurance policy I can't use either. This will be a deciding factor for who I vote for in the up coming elections though, I can tell you that much!!
And SSRI's can be very helpful for some. I had to take them for a while, but was able to wean myself most of the way off of them before I had to seek help because of adrenal issues. Not sleeping even 3 hours each day is just not an option. I do agree that they are dangerous for long term use, but if depression is a real big problem for someone, I surely don't want them passing on using SSRI's at least short term. It could save their lives.
Don'tforgetfasting - I too have had some horrible experiences with Endos!! The last one I saw wanted to do surgery on me rather than even test for thyroid issues!!
Needless to say, I got the heck out of there!!
