Insomnia,vibrating and aches

Anyone have issues with insomnia? I wake up with a vibrating feeling in my body and can't fall back sleep. Will this subside as treatment goes on? Also anyone else have chest, back and neck ache..its like a burning type feeling. Hoping this all goes away

Are you taking anything to help you sleep - like possibly Ashwaghanda or Melatonin? I take Ashwaghanda 2x a day. In Buhner's newest book he recommends Sida Acuta for buzzing in nerves. I have no idea how you are treating but just a few thoughts off the top of my head. I started Sida last week.

I started having the vibrations in April 2015. They did go away for a bit and then came back. Initially had them during the day too, but now it is only at night and wakes me up. My sleeping is never consistent. Will have a good week or two then it is back in the tank. I do not get the burning pain but I have read about others that do.

I'm the opposite - I have vibrations - but NOT when I sleep...just during my waking hours.

I also get shivers throughout the day...they aren't from being cold...but do seem to be worse in the winter months....

Have you tried Epsom salt baths or foot soaks? The magnesium you get from it might help some of your issues. It also helps you to detox. There are instructions in the "New to Lyme?...start here" thread at the top of the page. You may want to start with a foot soak. I hope something will help.

You were responding the same time as I was, so I just saw your reply. I'm on a supplement with a mix of things in it for my adrenals, no drugs, just herbs and nutrients and it has helped. It has my doctors label on it, so I don't know who carries something similar.

I did my first epsom salt bath today! Hopefully it helps with my symptoms. It seems like everything you do to treat the infections make you feel worse before better.

Yes its the strangest symptom and very hard to explain.
I can tolerate and push through these symptoms during the day...but at 3am every night is very hard..especially when my two kids get up at 7.

Im being treated for Bart and Lyme also. Ive beenn on Azith and Bactrim for 10weeks and Ifeel worse then before treatment. I was sick for a few months and my neighbor who has been through it recommended I go see her llmd(who saved her life) and here I am.

Not really sure and I feel like the doctors arent 100%either.

I don't know if you were asking me if I was better...or someone else.

Many of my symptoms are much better - I don't have muscle pain anymore...at all. I have joint pain - shoulders, knees, wrists, fingers...but overall I'd estimate it's about 80% better.
I don't have tailbone pain anymore. No anxiety, depression, or panic attacks. No urinary urgency...
No pressure in my head behind my eyes.

But, I still have the vibrations and shivers....Since the vibrations started within a few months of my first lyme symptoms...I'm thinking they may be the last to go. The shivers were very early on, too.

I also have my very first symptom - the radiculopathy - upper left side - shoulderblade/arm/hand/finger.
I am now going to physio (once again) - and getting some work done on that area, along with exercises..(I developed 'frozen shoulder' over two years ago after lyme hit me.

No, it does get better. But, honestly, my changes were/are so subtle...and slow..that I didn't/don't recognize them...until I see a post like this...or I go back to old notes...and I realize that a symptom is gone..or hardly bothering me anymore.

When a person has many, many symptoms...including the nervous system involvement...it is really difficult to 'feel' better...even when you 'lose' a few of them.

How long did you have it?

Mine started before I was diagnosed and didn't leave until over a year later - several months after I started treatment.

I think my shoulder pain is joint pain (not to be confused with my shoulder blade pain on my left side...lol)

dm52 - that sounds horrible! Sorry you're dealing with that.

Having sleep issues has got to be the worst!

I had them for several months - I dreaded going to bed (prior to Lyme...I actually enjoyed sleeping...I used to joke that it was a hobby of mine) - I would wake up ever couple hours in a panic, sweating, and gasping for air...with phlegm at the bottom of my throat that wouldn't clear.
My body vibrations never happened for me in the middle of the night.

It got to the point where going to bed was a stressful event.

How long has this been going on for you? And remind me...how long have you been treating...and with what?

Hi Lynbrez- Don't have any advice being new to all this myself, but I can at least let you know I have those issues often too- especially the insomnia. Sleeping is a battle. Often it's because of vibration feeling going through me, sometimes restless legs, or burning hands and feet, or ear ringing or just because I can never sleep. :)

Vibrations for me felt similar to what I feel when my cell phone is vibrating in my pocket.

Buzzing sensations for me were a milder vibration......and humming sensations were even milder than that.

I guess the next lower level would be the pins and needles feeling one gets when a body part is waking up from "falling asleep".

This is how I've classified my experiences - they are by no means textbook.

dmw52 - are you sure that it's the herxing causing your spine damage?
Did you have an mri prior to treatment - and was there no damage then?

I would think that Lyme and/or co's could cause the damage even without herxing...

I have some narrowing of spaces in my vertebrae, too, but it was there before I started treatment...and I never had any spinal pain from it.

Do you herx severely on the herbal treatments for lyme? at a really low dose?

yes, cd - various 'levels' of vibrations/buzzings...and so hard to describe.
