Heart murmur could it be lyme related?

I have also developed a heart murmur. I have been referred to an internist but no appointment date yet. I had an EKG and wore the holter monitor for 24 hours but have not received any report yet. I have had a lot of heart palps since getting Lyme. I feel certain that it is realated.

I have recently began testing positive for Lyme. I am in Texas so the waiting game to start with the VERY few LLMD dr's down here is on for me so I can't say anything with a medical backup but I just left my cardiologist yesterday with that news as well. I had the echo and stress test 2 weeks ago and though the stress test was fine my monitor had picked up an irregular beat and the echo confirmed that I have mitral valve prolapse which is where the valve closes too far and allows the blood back into the other side of the heart. The further the prolapse the harder the pulse necessary to open it back up correctly. I would feel the palpitation whenever this hard "beat" had to occur to get the valve to open back outward.

Now of course after internet doctoring for hours I am seeing many situations to where autoimmune diseases can damage the valve or make it weaker which is what mine has done. I saw a few indicating that Lyme can cause that as well. This has pushed me to get into an LLMD faster if that means going out of state because at the beginning stages an MVP isn't too harmful, though it wears on your heart, but it can get progressively worse. In my opinion, if the Lyme has caused this valve to weaken then not being treated for the Lyme can only allow it more time to cause damage to that valve and other body parts.
