Today I had a great day and felt no symptoms whatsoever. Yet yesterday and the day before I was so fatigued I felt like sleeping all day. Having days like I did today makes me question this ailment. Is it common in lyme to feel completely normal one day then bad the next? Also are mild cases of lyme disease possible?

The degree of disability varies from person to person. Generally, the longer we are ill, the worse we are..as the infection continues to grow.

Since my symptoms started in April, 2013, I have not had a totally symptom free day, yet.

I've had a few where I felt maybe 80% better for the majority of the day, but that's it.

Consider yourself fortunate to have that.

Yes, you can feel completely normal one day...and bad the next.

Girlie -how is break going?...you treated for almost 1.5 years?...80% sounds good...there was one nite i didnt hurt for few minutes. .that was sweet...

Break is going alright...have had some decent days...but I have to give the Physio some of the credit.

Still off antibiotics, and herbs...and now taking the Nystatin.

Will be adding Jap Knotweed back in soon.

Total treatment is 15.5 months...

Yes, 80% is great! But it's only once in awhile...and for most, not all of the day.

i have that! i have days with no symptoms at all.

when your bacteria load is lower, the immune system will sometimes go to sleep, and thats when u feel normal. then after some time, the bacterial load grows again and gets noticed, the immune sys activates and you feel crappy again. it's a good sign to have cycles like that. means u are closer to remission. the good days need to grow and bad days to shrink.

Happy to hear you've had a symptom-free day!!! And, yes, people on here report good days and bad days....that's the nature of these infections.

Without a doubt, mild cases of Lyme (as well as the coinfections) are totally possible. In fact, there are people walking around with asymptomatic infections.

While my symptoms have always been mild (except when herxing), I'm still treating 18 months after the tick bite.

I was at 90% when I went off abx in February of last year....stayed at that level for almost 6 months when following one herbal protocol....and am now at 98% after 5 months on a different herbal protocol.

I've read that the last 10% of healing can sometimes take longer and that's proving true for me.

I still have daily symptoms but they really don't impact my life at all....we're talking very mild muscle twitches for the most part.

Isn't it strange to feel so differently even within the space of a day or a few hours? Last week in my world it was mostly this very stiff and achy muscle/joint thing but my mood wasn't impacted (and I stupidly mentioned that out loud to my husband). The weekend it switched to general malaise, not so much achy but more neuro and yesterday was the worst with mood in full parade mode. Note to self: when feeling better in any area, DO NOT MENTION IT OUT LOUD.

Another member said something like this: "Treating these infections is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're doing to get".

Oh my goodness you guys are so right. Don't jinx it! Haha after a few minutes of making this post I began having the old joint aches again. It truly is like a box of chocolates, but a very bad, evil kind of chocolate.

CD your journey is inspiring and gives me hope. I'm so glad you are feeling better.
