I hope it is ok that I am starting another thread about
my symptoms. I spent so much time today looking into Lyme disease that I began to realize that I had other symptoms that could be related to Lyme as well.
I was diagnosed with Lyme in December. My doctor told me that I had caught it early and was confident that 3 weeks of doxy would clear it up. I was not overly concerned. I finished the antibiotics in the middle of January and felt normal. Then, I began to notice some other symptoms. The knuckles on my left hand are very sore. My left leg has been swelling above my sock. The leg is also a bit tingly. When I get home I need to remove my socks and raise the leg. The swelling goes away after an hour or so of this. My left arm feels as if it is slightly asleep. Also, I have noticed recently that my left eye feels ever so slightly irritated. It feels like I got soap in it and the stinging just went away. I only just now realized that this could be another symptom. Also, I have had tinnitus for years, but it has gotten worse and the ringing (in my left ear) is louder.
I am very new to all of this and am only just now researching Lyme and trying to learn more. I joined this support group and another online support group and am looking to see an ILAD doctor. I found one in my area and will call her office on Tuesday.
Are all these symptoms I am describing typical? I find it odd that everything seems to be on my left side. The tick bites and bulls eye were on my right leg.
This is all very new to me and I am just hoping to reach out to people and commiserate. I really just need to vent. I wish that I had been more proactive when first diagnosed rather than just assuming my doctor was correct in telling me it would be easily treated. I like my primary doctor a lot but I now see the need to visit a specialist.

Your story sounds unfortunately like mine....take a peek at my signature.
I pulled the tick out of the right side of my abdomen and most of my symptoms were/are on my left side....and they were/are all weird. Lyme in the classic sense and another case-in-point that 3 wks. of doxy just isn't enough.
20/20 Hindsight sucks and has been the story of my life with these stupid infections. I'm healing in spite of my LLMD.....and myself sometimes lol
Oh, Beeperoni - I only edited your post to create a hyperlink for that great link you shared...thanks!

The ringing in my ear is driving me insane at the moment. I have dealt with Tinnitus for years but it has grown louder recently. I would really love to experience silence again. I never appreciated it enough when I was able to have it.
There is no sense in regretting how I handled the initial diagnosis. It is what it is. It just seems so obvious now. My friend told me to see a specialist and I just brushed it off. I just need to focus on what I can do correctly now and in the future.
This site has been great.

If you are looking to make sense out of lyme symptoms, there is none. Weird symptoms. Very erratic and no pattern to go by.
Each of us show our individuality by our symptoms. Our uniqueness. I think the most strangest one I got was that I felt like I had been hit. I mean like punched in my arm. It felt bruised and yet there was no bruise. I just hurt like when I was a kid and my little sister used to hit me on the arm. Strangest thing.
Now the best part is that those symptoms do go away with treatment.
