I'm looking for a LLMD in VA, closer to the Northern VA area. I have been symptomatic of Lyme for just over two months. I have been to numerous doctors and all tests are coming back negative. I have had two ELISA tests which were both negative and had to finally convince my GP to run a Western Blot as they usually won't without the positive ELISA first. My GP told me the Western Blot was negative and the only positive on is IGMP23AB. All the research I've been doing shows this is an active infection, but my GP doesn't want to pursue anything. I have neurological, muscular, joint, low temperature, night sweats, ringing in the ears muscle twitching, weight loss, back pain, weakness, fatigue, hard to concentrate just to name a few. Any help provided is greatly appreciated.

Band 23 is lyme specific...I think you are wise to seek out a LLMD and schedule an appointment.
Your symptoms are consistent with those of Lyme disease.

For information on finding a​n ILADS ​(International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)​ trained​ Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you can send me an email by clicking on my screen name or the small blue envelope under my screen name. I may have contact information for some LLMD's in your area as well.​ ​Please include your state (or province) and area that you would like to find a LLMD in and I will be happy to share the names I have.​


You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at [email protected]​ for LLMD referrals and you can go to ​tbdalliance.org​​ to learn more about these infections.


You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:

ILADS has their own referral system as well:

​ You will want to find an ILADS trained doctor, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doc (Infectious Disease Doctor), as ID docs believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme.
