Well, my LLMD prescribed me Ceftriaxone for meningitis for a month.

Guess I need to take intramuscular shots. I've done them for testosterone before. Shouldn't be too difficult. We'll see if this helps.

Will let you know how it goes.

Doc prescribed Ceftriazone. However, my insurance won't pay for it. They said it would be 5k to buy it without insurance.

Not sure what to do. Did others have this problem who have taken it?

Update: Fallon won't pay for it if I receive it directly from the pharmacy and inject myself. They will pay for it, if the doc injects it for me. However, doc isn't authorized to inject it. Also, I need two injections per day, so that's not feasible.

So, there's still the nuclear option. Buying from India. Manufactured by : Aristo, India. I have no way of knowing if this is a sanitary, and safe product. Made in India, so probably not super sanitary. Although, I was talking to someone and they said all of the drugs we get these days are made in India, and rebranded. So that's questionable.

If it was only a pill, it might not be too bad. Of course, bad things can go into pills too. But injecting something that isn't sterile could be more dangerous.

I also read that there is a danger of thrombosis during injecting. I'm not sure if this is just general thrombosis that can occur from any injection, or if Ceftriax somehow increases the likelyhood of developing thrombosis.

gfields, I asked one of the MD's who I work with who is from Mumbai, how safe would you think it is to purchase medications from this particular pharmaceutical company that I use in India, she stated that it would be fine to purchase from them. I feel that their quality controls are as stringent as ours and many people worldwide purchase from out of the country. I would use India rather than say, Mexico. I started using the pharmacy several years ago and have purchased 3 times, am getting ready to purchase again.
I do not have an LLMD and my PCP does not believe in chronic Lyme so I have needed to find my Doxy wherever I could. For the first 10 years I had a PCP who would give me a script when I knew I needed it, every 3-4 months. Then I was employed by a hospital system who does not have anyone that I know who will treat me on my insurance, so I needed to find it where I could for various conditions other than Lyme. Sinus infections, etc.
I would have better care if I had an LLMD, I am sure. But sometimes we have do do whatever is necessary to survive, and I have been at this since 1988, and fortunately had a diagnosis by an ID doc in 1990 with 3 weeks of IV Rocephin.
In my research, I have found that the most trusted pharmacies from India are the alldaychemist that you mentioned and the one I use, Reliable RX. Keep an eye on your credit card, though.... all day chemist has reports of fraudulent charges made on credit cards afterwards, I had no problems with Reliable.
I do not use the amounts of medication commonly used by some of the LLMD's, if I had known many years ago I may have done things differently. It is just the last couple of years that I have needed more antibiotics than I did when I was younger. But over the years I have also remained mostly functional, working full time.
