Severe OCD

My daughter has had every symptom imaginable the last two years. They've all come and gone. Her Lyme brain is never ending with the dizziness, noise, confusion, anxiety attacks, OCD and more.

I'm just wondering if there's anything to get her OCD under control because I feel like she's losing her mind. She is obsessed with boxes and containers in which she stores everything in not to ever touch it again. All her Christmas gifts are unwrapped but unopened stored in a chest. When I ask her if we can play with one she just says, "I can't! I'm too tired". But really she's busy all day digging in junk drawers and collecting crazy items that are useless to her. This week she's making repetitive sounds, panting like a dog, exercise movements and just something constant to keep her brain calm. If she sits still too long, she hears noises or voices in her head that causes her to scream in fear and pain. I just need some help 😔

She's not getting treatment now. She was on some things her LLMD got us to try. I tried so many of the protocols out there and at one time something was helping her. I just have to get her back on some to figure it out. We haven't been able to afford the LLMD because of having to be with her 24/7 last year but we are all rotating work schedules again finally because she is a lot better than last year with the attacks. So hopefully we can get her back to her new normal.

To me it sounds as though your daughter is dealing with bartonella (psych issues) and possibly babesia (dizziness).

Bart is notorious for causing OCD, panic/anxiety attacks, hallucinations etc.

Here is K's timeline. She is now in complete remission from all symptoms, even the Asperger's and Tourette's.

K - Born 2001 with light/sound/touch sensitivity. Loss of speech/fine motor ability 2 weeks after 15 month MMR vaccination.

2004 - Dx ADHD, SPD (light, sound, touch), motor delay (with toe-walking), hypotonia, oral apraxia.

2008 - MMR booster and insect bite (bruise-like rash) - motor/vocal tics, emotional lability (including rage), age regressive behaviour, low level OCD, urinary frequency, diminished fine motor ability, insomnia, loss of executive function. Waxed and waned with strep/viral infections.

2010 - Dx ADHD, Tourettes, Aspergers, motor delay, probable PANDAS.

Jan 2011 - shin/forearm pain, cyclic IBS, foot (sole) pain, dizziness, palpitations, chest pain, anxiety/panic attacks, pick-like skull pain, pain and stiffness at base of skull, tingling in extremeties, chills and hot flashes, extreme fatigue, nightly fever.

June 2011 - Igenex PCR positive bartonella, Negative ELISA, Negative lyme (IND IgM kDa 41; IND IgG kDa 39, 34. kDa 41++). CD57 18. Positive ANA (speckled type), heterozygous A1298C MTHFR. Multiple Abx, methyl B12, methylfolate, P-5-P, herbal, homeopathic treatment with LLMD.

Jan 2013 - Bartonella IgG titers declined from 160 (Jun 2011) to 80. CD57 16.

April 2013 - Weaned from abx treatment at 80% improvement. Continued with Full Buhner bartonella herbal protocol, Terry Wahls/PerfectHealthDiet gf/cf/sf diet. Minimizing EMF exposure.

Sept 2013 - CD57 45.

Oct 2013 - All symptoms (PANS and pain/fatigue) 95% resolved. No flares with viral or other infections. Herxing remains with changes in herbal protocols.

Nov 2013 - Clinical babesia diagnosis. Improvement to 98% with addition of Buhner herbal protozoan treatment.

Dec 2013 - ANA titers negative. PANS symptoms resolved. Regular classroom requiring no accommodations. B+/A student.

Mar 2014 - Continued improvement in cognitive/executive function with increased dosages of cryptolepis/sida/alchornea (CSA) tincture.

Sept 2014 - Continued improvement with the addition of red root. Resolution of EMF sensitivities with low dose cilantro tincture and diatomaceous earth. 99%

Stephen Buhner recommends Japanese knotweed and kudzu tinctures for reducing the inflammation of the encephalitis caused by bartonella (and other coinfections). I found Japanese knotweed worked wonders for K at dosages of 1/4 tsp 3-4 x daily, doubling dosages for a bit if she was herxing from treatment. We haven't used kudzu, but it may be even better.

And what should I order first for the herbal Bart treatment? Her LLMD asked if the red stretch marks were always there and I said she's always had stretch marks. But now I realize then (almost 2 years ago) she did have red marks and she hasn't had red ones since they went away.

All of the lyme "coinfections" can be stand-alone infections; lyme need not be involved. These include bartonella, babesia, mycoplasma, anaplasma, the rickettsias, RMSF, etc. Although the EM rash is all that is needed to diagnose lyme infection. No other tests are necessary.

Because lyme, bartonella and babesia are immune suppressive they will decrease immune function and antibody production. Any test that measures antibody response will not be an accurate indicator of bacterial load. If you have the Igenex WB done, even an IND (indeterminate - weak) response to a lyme specific band will indicate infection. The results will not be blaringly positive on someone with a heavy infection.

In fact, as K's (my 14 yo daughter) symptoms improved, her WB results started lighting up like a Christmas tree. Our LLMD said this was because her immune system was now more capable of producing the proper antibodies.

Because of the immune suppression caused by these infections, the likelihood of having more than one infection is pretty good.

Also be aware that there are many more species of these infections than there are tests. There are tests for only several bartonella species, but many more which are capable of infecting humans. The same with lyme and the babesias. The species aren't likely new, we are only now developing the ability to discern them. So what I'm trying to say is that even if you have negative test results, you should find someone that will help treat her on her clinical symptoms alone.

Didn't want to not reply after you taking your time to post all this. Just wanted to say how thankful I am and my daughter will be just to feel a little more normal. I'll be purchasing the book and remedies tomorrow. We are all so blessed to have such informative people in this forum.
