Hi, new to this section. I had a lot of issues for the past 2 years, finally found out it was Hashimotos awhile back. Some of my symptoms resided with thyroid meds, but we could never get the majority stable. I ended up thinking Lyme. Took Dr. Horowitz online questionnaire and got a score of 62 6 months ago. Took it recently and got a 109. Too many symptoms to list.

My question is though....could Lyme be a reason I never did well on antibiotics? Such as, once I took Bactrim for a really bad ear infection, phew!! Did I ever feel like I was dying. Another time I took amoxicillin for the same reason, along with percocet, and one of those 2 had me vomiting like you wouldnt believe. I took another one once, cannot remember what it was though, but same result. The only abx that I ever took and never had trouble with is zithromax. Thanks.

Yes, absolutely. I took Biaxin before I knew of Lyme. I almost had my spouse drive me to the ER. It was that bad. So, yes, it could def be a sign.

Do some research. Get tested by Igenex if you can.

Thank you. Ya, waiting on IGeneX results as we speak. We always suspected Lyme or thyroid from the beginning. Had a lot of pain/anxiety. Thought I was having heart attacks. But I tested neg(ELISA). 3Xs. 4th time was positive recently, but doc said false pos. So I told him we gotta do IGeneX. Another week or so, I hope. Thanks again!

No, I think these tests are like pregnancy tests. You can take a test, it comes up negative, but that doesn't mean it's not positive. OR you take the test, it comes up positive, and... it's positive. My 2 cents!

Yeah, I think most lymies have had our fair share of heart attack scares. Scary!

Well, let us know when you get your results. I hope you don't have Lyme, but I hope you get an accurate answer either way! Meanwhile, read the "new to Lyme" post on top.

Leilex said it very well. There is no such thing as a false positive. If you got a positive on a lyme test, you have lyme. Sorry you have an inept doctor that is making you pay for another test. But..... we have all been there with so many tests and so many doctors. It is a joke, but not funny to the pocket book.

Anyway, I am glad you found us and hope you get a decent doctor. One that understands lyme. Look for a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD).
