If it isn't obvious I've been reading Buhner's Bartonella book and I quote:
"The most effective antibiotic for bartonella is telithromycin (Ketek). (Trimethoprim (one of the 2 antibiotics in Bactrim) was found to be very effective in another study). This is followed, in order, by a number of other macrolides (clarithromycin, erythromycin, rifampin), then several fluoroquinolones (gatifloxacin, gemifloxacin, moxifloxacin), then a few tetracyclines (doxy, mino), then netilmicin and gentamicin among the aminoglycosides. A combination of 2 or more was found to be the most effective. Bart bacteria are not very susceptible to vancomycin or ciprofloxacin."
Those that have treated bart with these abx's, what was your result? Also I thought Ketek could have fatal side effects so no one really prescribes it. Also was interested to read Cipro didn't work very well as you see that as part of Tier 1 Bart treatment from some other doctors who publish.
