I had my regular blood work come back, and I learned that my white blood cell count is high. Back before treatment my wbc was in the normal range. Why is it high now? I've been on multiple antibiotics for months for Lyme. Shouldn't it be getting lower?
I also feel like I'm not seeing as much progress as I would like. How long does it take for this wretched disease to get better? I'm worried that antibiotic therapy is making me worse due to the high wbc and now hypothyroid (also used to be normal).

I would take that as good news- sound like your immune system is kicking in and fighting your infection.
That's my take-I hate to say time will tell

I've been searching and searching and searching for information about
what one's blood work is like when "herxing" and getting treatment, but haven't had anything really solid yet. High white blood cell count could be something associated with bacterial die - off. I don't know. I am really curious about
this puzzle piece.

Thanks- hopefully it's not some other problem on top of the Lyme...

A high WBC is what tips doctors off to an infection in the body - it's your immune system doing it's best to join in the fight!! This is something to celebrate!!
Keep strengthening your immune system to help in the fight against these bacteria!!
