Hate to ask this, but im so full of anxiety today. Its been about
3 weeks since my blood draw. I just noticed IGeneX charged my cc this morning. Does that usually mean they are done? Or just getting started? My doc(GP) ordered it reluctantly as I was pressuring him pretty hard. But hes the type to sit on results. Id like them back ASAP, because that will actually help me get into my LLMD faster, especially if they are positive and if the LLMD has a cancellation.
Forgive me for asking such a minor question, but im a wreck this morning. Noticing the charge on my card, muscles ache, as I said full of anxiety, my boss has been up my butt to meet up with HR to get FMLA paperwork(which I havent done because I already have an agreement over a year now with HR to take off as needed, but since my days off have been increasing they are getting PO'd. Luckily im union and somewhat covered under Americans with Disabilities Act due to my Hashimotos(might even be for Lyme if I have a positive result). Anyhow, might seem trivial, but hope you understand my frustrations. Being a man I hate saying this, but I feel so vulnerable today. Thank you.

Waiting can be very hard and I'm sorry you're dealing with such anxiety.
Yes, once IGeneX runs the cc, things should start moving forward more quickly. I know that, once my card got charged, it was a short time before the results came through.
Your LLMD shouldn't need test results to move forward with your case - is this something the office told you?
No matter what, best of luck to you moving forward!!

Thanks. The LLMD said that, barring symptoms, he would need a positive result to treat. Regardless, he has all his patients test through IGeneX. They reserved an appointment end of April, but before he will see me they are sending me papers to sign and questions to answer. Should be here today. They said if my symptoms align with Lyme or co infection he would treat right away without waiting for results to come back. I had already pressured my GP into doing IGeneX so my LLMD is just waiting for me to return paperwork.

You can call Igenex and ask them where they're at with the testing.
I did.

What Girlie said.
I actually emailed them with the same question. The gal told me that they usually charge it about
halfway through the testing. Mine came back fairly quickly after that. But it went to my Chiro and he is the one who let me know. You will receive a letter shortly before it arrives.
It is so hard to wait, I feel for you.

Thanks all. I just called and they looked me up. Monday at the soonest, more likely end of next week :( Oh well, at least now I wont be so anxious I guess. Thanks a lot.

Hi trader. If it makes you feel any better I'm waiting too. I am a wreck. I had my blood draw on the 16th of March. I emailed them a few days ago and they said my test was still in progress but if I would like the results sent directly to me they would I the mail. So maybe you could do that so you don't have to wait to hear from your doctor.
I have been having muscle aches and joint problems too. It's awful and waiting is just so hard. I hope you get your answers soon. Take care

Thanks evianangel. I didnt know if I could say it here, but they told me they would mail me a copy too. When I had my GP fill out the form, beforebI went to the hospital for the blood draw, I wrote on top in parenthasis to please send patient a copy of results. When I called them, they said they saw I called yesterday, I said no I didnt, they said oh now they see, it was a notation to send me a copy which they said they will.
It is frustrating isnt it? The wait? Not only for results, but even getting in to see a good LLMD. Some people are a rock, able to handle this sort of stuff. And that used to be me. But whatevers got me has torn me up pretty good.Ya know, I used to be able to get mad easily...not saying thats a good trait....but I was strong, physically and emotionally. Not anymore. I mean, I have my days, but most are so not like me. Weak in all aspects. Just sucks.

Trader - yes I totally understand, I feel very weak emotionally too, it is so taxing to have to go through something like this.
Before I contacted igenex I talked to the llnd clinic I have gone to, and they said I couldn't have my results until the doctor reviewed them.. It's like excuse me I just paid a small fortune I should be able to see my results if I want. So that's when I contacted igenex privately. What a battle.
Hang in there and I'll try to too, hopefully it won't be too much longer. I'm going to be so nervous to
open the envelope.

Some Dr's can get so high and mighty.
Evian - I had my blood drawn by a LLND in Victoria - which is only a 3 1/4 hour drive from my home. I just wanted the test done...had not chosen her to treat me.
She did a consult with a full exam...and blood draw...I paid around $350. She did do the best physical exam I've ever had in my life.
While waiting for the results, I had decided I wanted to be treated by Dr. C. in Richmond. - mainly because he has the most experience and lots of good results.
When the results came back, I wanted them...and I was told by the LLND in Victoria that I would have to make an appointment and see her to get them. The next available appointment was a few weeks out.
Not only did I not want another appt. with her, but I did not want to wait a few weeks to know my results...and she would not tell me anything over the phone.
I sent a very curt email..stating that she should not be holding my results hostage...that my GP had a right to see them since I paid the Igenex fee, as well as her fee for the blood draw. As far as I was concerned they were MY test results.
Within 5 minutes, the receptionist called me and asked for my GP's fax number.
I wish she hadn't done that...as I have at times since then wondered if I should try her as a LL Dr. - just to get another set of eyes...but I won't now because of the tension that is between us.
Trader - you will be yourself again...don't worry...this lack of confidence/weakness...it's temporary...
I think we will all be better people though...I can say that I am now much more compassionate...I never realized what people with a chronic illness go through...

Remember - these test results are not the 'be all and end all'. If you get a negative....it does not mean you don't have lyme disease.

It took another 2 weeks after my card was charged before my doctor got the results.
Make sure to get a copy of the results from the doctor because you want to know exactly what bands test positive. People definitely have symptoms even with a negative test. Mine came back positive for an active infection and negative for an old infection. My exposure was at least 35 years ago. Both would have been negative if I hadn't used Olive Leaf Extract to provoke the Lyme.

I have my fingers crossed. Even though I was/am symptomatic I wish I would have read about
olive leaf extract before the draw. But I didnt until last week. Either way im sure my LLMD will treat, at least his office said they do on symptoms. The only way they needed a positive to treat was if theyre no symptoms, which I have plenty of.

Ok, picked up a copy. It shows 41 + on IgM, and 41 IND on IgG. So what in the world set it off? Grrrr!

I tell ya, the more I read about
Band 41 only, the more I wish I didnt read about
it!!!! How can so many people test Band 41 +, yet be determined negative for Lyme, and then get treated for Lyme, only to test positive later?? Or not test positive later, but still treated and feel better?? This is crazy.

Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. A good lyme literate doctor or naturpath will treat you if you have the symptoms.

Thank you. Ya I know. Im just saying, this disease is so much more than I ever thought it was. The more I read the worse it gets. Its amazing to me how it can hide out until coaxed or killed off, or whatever gets the patient to test positive later, after treatment.
