Interesting article. I had no idea Russia was leading in organic farming.

I dreaded to take my kids to the doctor for vaccines. It's just my gut instinct, but I don't trust them. There are way too many.

Agree k07 - I felt the same with my daughter and I was more trusting back then when she was little. At 47, and how I feel about conventional medicine today, don't know if I could...and the same goes for my pets. Fortunately, I found a holistic vet in 2001 who supported that decision. I'm down to one 13 year old cat, but had a "herd" back in the day (2 dogs, 2 cats).

Agreed with you both. The only one I take is tetanus and then you have to make sure they don't give you the one with diptheria added. At best vaccines are useless at worst, harmful.

I am so very glad I was a young uninformed mother. I do not know what I would do now if I had a child. Probably put them in a bubble and keep them from the world.

I think this is why young people have kids.

I questioned the vaccines for our son...I would pick and choose which ones I felt were necessary.

If he wasn't getting the vaccine, he didn't go to school that day...I did not want them vaccinating him in error.

In Grade 5 or 6 he was supposed to have one of the Hepatitis vaccinations - the one that you get from IV drug use and sex. (Hep C?) i knew my son wasn't doing any of that...not even close...so he did not get that one. Some mothers gave me the lecture that kids are growing up faster and we don't really know what they're up to.
I did know what he was up to. We were playing leggo in his bedroom, and watching Mr. Bean.

When he was a baby, there wasn't a chicken pox vaccine offered...but as he got older, it was...I refused that one, too.

After our two cats disappeared within 6 months of each other - we only had indoor cats after.
No vaccinations for them, either.

Yes I agree. We picked which vaccines our children received. They did not get many but there are some beneficial vaccines out there. You just have to be careful and make informed decisions. We vaccinated the old fashioned way for chicken pox. What the neighbor has it? Well it's time to go play. That is how most of us got it growing up and it never hurt us so why not keep a tradition? Although we are considered bad parents by some I guess for making them go through that.

Count me in on the "bubble shoppers".

My grandkids go to day care and, not surprisingly, proof vaccines are required(including an annual flu vaccine). I am so not happy about this.

Don't even get me going with how many antibiotic prescriptions they've had in their short time on this earth.

All I can do is keep my mouth shut and pray.

Also glad not to be raising kids now. My youngest daughter is 21 now and when she was in high school, junior year maybe, they sent a letter that NOW all high schoolers were supposed to get boosters of blahdeblah vaccines. I had to sign a paper NOT to get it (remembering when my parents had to sign for permission TO get them, which thankfully my father never did) and I forgot. In a couple weeks I got another letter telling me that I was being referred to the District Attorney's office for non-compliance with the vaccine requirements. Good grief the mafia wish they had the enforcement apparatus that this 'medical' system enjoys!
