Immune System
Organs involved in the immune system are the spleen, thymus, tonsils and lymph glands.
There are 2 primary causes of over stimulation of the immune system.
1. Emotional and lifestyle stress. Whether physically or emotionally the body thinks it is under attack. The immune system is then alert
ed to prepare for the invasion. It does not matter if this is real or perceived stress. This tells you right here how powerful our minds are over our bodies. Long term over stimulation of the immune system will weaken the immune system, which in turn suppresses its normal functions. Exercise and yoga are proven to reduce stress, thereby normalizing the immune system.
2. The second is chemical stress. The most common chemical stress that we have a huge control over is nutrition. Our colons are so very important. This is where the good and the bad happen and we would all like it to be all good. The good is nutrients are absorbed in the colon, the bad is this is the way toxins are passed out of the body. If the colon is slow, sluggish or blocked these toxins sit there and are absorbed back into the body. The immune system gets its “alert
” that invaders abound and it begins its attack. This unnecessary attack puts stress on the immune system.
The bottom (pun intended) line is eat nutritious food and keep your colon actively doing what it was designed to do.
I have always felt that we get a lot of health problems via our gut. We did not get lyme from there but we can help our immune system be strong to fight lyme back.
