Liver support supplements during antibiotic use?

What are the most effective liver support supplements you've found in lowering AST/ALT levels? I have found Milk Thistle (500mg taken 2x/day) to be effective.. any others?

I like eating my helpers so I eat garlic, grapefruit, avocados, beets (I love the yellow/orange ones), leafy vegetables (yummmm a salad!) and cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower and my favorite bok choy).

Honestly I could eat salads for every meal. My favorite is a bed of spinach with hot scrambled eggs on it and a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar and sprinkles of finely chopped garlic. Nice breakfast salad.

In addition to Milk Thistle Seed (I had immediate level changes w/ MTS) and the foods PeteZa listed (awesome list) - I added Burdock Root to my MTS cocktail and my levels got even better.

@ Jackie Moon-'Dengue fever'??? May I ask did you contract that overseas? I ask because I started getting sick after moving to Singapore, where i lived for 3 years. I got mosquito bites there ALOT, but never got Dengue. I DID however get the mycoplasma thats rampant there. My Lyme and Co's always come back negative, so Ive suspected that Ive actually gotten some other strain thats not yet testex for.

I got dengue at the Texas border. Worst 5 day flu of my life. I just thought it was a bad flu. I got an infectious panel many years later and happened to test positive for it. Don't be fooled it is in the southern US states too. How many years have you been sick? I thought the same thing. I didn't test positive for bartonella / babesia antibodies for almost 2 years ( or anything else for that matter ). You can understand why people say the tests are not very accurate. If you have the money try a live blood slide. If you can sometimes see the bugs!

I second the microscopy. ..does any one know how to do a giemsa stain?
