I don't know... maybe someone has some ideas on this... but yes, the Rx is hard on the liver.
I have been trying to get off these antivirals for a long time. They were my main issue when I first started seeing my LLMD and I tested high levels/titers/reactivated for 4-5 different viruses when I first saw her. And we had to try a couple of different antivirals before I had relief. Only when this got under control and my fungal load and GI calmed down would she start on the lyme, bart and babesia --took about 4 months to get started.
That was 2 yrs ago, since then I've tried going off the antiviral and eventually, the viral load overwhelms me and interferes w/ treatment. So I go back on the antiviral. She recommended a natural antiviral from Beyond Balance called IMN-V-II. I accidentally overdosed with, say, 10 drops and I crashed HARD. I was bed-ridden for weeks. Needless to say, I haven't tried it since but my goal is to get off the Rx and do the tincture.
I don't know what it's going to take to get the viral load under control but I need to figure it out. My liver & kidney functions are checked on a weekly basis now that I stared a 2nd abx (I was being checked bi-wkly) and as long as I continue my detox cocktail (milk thistle seed, burdock root, parsley, bur bur and pinella) and other detox regimen my labs remain good knock on wood.
