Ok, so I had an MRI done and it showed one single solidary lesion in the subcortical matter on my right side? Anyone else have Migrains all of the sudden, then white spots on brain scan. Just wondering if it could be Lyme related.

Those white spots can be due to a number of things, including just "age". I had a number of them last time I had an MRI, which, admittedly, was some time ago. I have insurance, but it has such a high deductable that I don't dare use it unless it's truly needed.

My doctor said mine were either age related or lyme. He said that mine were "normal" for my age and that if I was younger he might be concerned, but probably not since I have lyme. I was totally confused but decided that "normal" on the paper was good.

I'm wondering why I didn't have any 'normal for my age' white matter...if they weren't specifically looking for that...it would still be reported, right? The technologist looks for any abnormalities...and reports, correct?

Mine was a CT brain scan. They look present with
comparison - last scan
clinical indication - why you are being scanned
Technique - how they tested
Findings - what they saw (this is where they saw my white matter low densities)
Impression - what they think is suspicious or out of the ordinary or noteworthy.
Final Report - They found a cyst in my right maxillary sinus. (this is a first for this to show up)

I don't know how you guys up north get your reports. But surely they would have noted any abnormalities or suspicious things.

I think they are supposed to report any abnormalities...so they should have ....but I'm not a spring chicken...so I should have some age-related white spots.

Listen to me.....I should be happy....but it makes me think if they missed that...what else did they miss?

I don't have the report in front of me...I'll have to dig it out and see how the report is done.

The radiologist noted on my MRI report a single solidary hyperintensity flare (lesion) in the subcortical, right parietal. He also noted that my right 7th cranial nerve was larger than the left. The right side of my head us where the original "twitching/pain" started after I got sick. I am not able to get back into the neurologists until June 30th, but his NP said normal MRI???
