Hi trader -
I think I made the reference to provoking an immune response in my comment - the threads will eventually re-order themselves on the site as people respond to them. The conversation was about
"indeterminate" responses to lyme tests. For other's benefit - I made the comment that if anyone chooses to retest, to try provoking an immune response before the test.
Olive leaf extract has known antibiotic properties and is used to help support the immune system. The typical lyme tests are serology tests--meaning they determine a presence of the lyme infection by looking for antibodies the body creates to it. They've determined various bands react to various components of the lyme DNA.
When people are ill, their immune systems aren't functioning very well and it's tough for the immune system to produce a sufficient volume of antibodies that the tests can pick up. Additionally, the tests are antiquated and the
interpretation of the tests, highly disputed, are also very outdated and have more to do with a need to prevent false positive results in support of failed vaccines and to protect patent-holders of possible future vaccines... but I digress.
Boosting your immune system (and LDN is another way to do it) helps wake it up and hopefully, increase its antibody response before retesting.
As mentioned in the following thread - for some people who are in crisis mode with an overactive immune response, increasing immune activity might not be a good approach. Some people provoke only before the test and then cease the immune booster:

Also, Tillybear has posted great notes on the lyme conference and one of the speakers explained a certain "stage" of lyme that disrupts treatment, due to an overactive immune system. This was a great explanation of why treatment can sometimes produce unintended consequences but knowing that you are at risk of an overactive immune system can help you determine your approach with the provocation for test purposes--and for your overall treatment approach.
Hope this helps -
