How many drops of Cats claw is equivalent to the full dose? All I found talks about capsules,

I use to figure 30 drops was about 1 tsp. Then I stopped counting and just took a dropper full.

Cat's Claw tincture
150 lb adult: 1 teaspoon 3x daily
100 lb adult: 2/3 teaspoon 3x daily
60 lb child: 1/3 teaspoon 3x daily
30 lb child: 1/5 teaspoon 3x daily

This was taken from Buhners protocol on his website.
I counted the drops into the measure I needed which gave me a good idea. Now I just use 3 half droppers full without measuring like Tickbite!

One of Buhner's recommended sources provides dosage equivalents with their tinctures.

1/4 tsp = 25 drops

A 1 oz bottle of tincture contains 600 drops.


If you are switching from capsules to tinctures, I suggest you start on a lower dose of tincture. Tinctures are the most potent form of plant medicine and you certainly don't need a massive herx.

And, for whatever it's worth, Buhner significantly expanded his Lyme protocol and it's outlined in his new book. The information on his website is quite outdated. People still healed with the old protocol but the newer one is more comprehensive and addresses specific symptoms.

cd - isn't 1/4 tsp also supposed to be equivalent to one dropperful?

Yes, Girlie - 1/4 tsp is equivalent to one dropperful (and a dropperful is what you get when you empty the tube and suck up tincture into the bulb)

Haha - glad my question helped.

It's only been the last few months that I have stopped counting drops into a 1/4 tsp.

I just do the one dropperful now.
