Hello everyone! I'm really new to this, I've never posted here before. I'm not really sure if anyone will reply to this but it would be greatly appreciated if you did.

My brother has been diagnosed with chronic Lyme. He also has Bartonella. He's had Lyme for about 4 years now and started treatment a couple months ago. While he's had some great days, he's also had his share of really bad ones. However, the last month or so my brother has been complaining about head pains and that he has been experiencing anxiety. He also believes he is depressed.

I've been with my brother every step of the way in his journey to treat his Lyme, however the last month has been incredibly difficult for me to watch as I see him slowly changing and becoming less optimistic. He often tells me he is scared he will die and that he hates the way his Lyme has been manipulating him into making him feel. It has been really hard seeing my brother go through these changes. I know how he is, cheerful and a jokester but lately has been solemn and sluggish. I can tell he is depressed and it's hard that all I have been able to do the last month is tell him that things will be okay and we will get through this.

I've been frustrated that I can't do more for him. Today I came up with the idea of doing some sort of fundraiser for him or maybe even donate the money to Lyme research. However, I have no idea how to go about it. I was thinking about setting up a booth at my college to educate my fellow peers and ask for donations. However I'm not sure if there are anymore creative or effective ways to fundraise.

If you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! Or any information on what I can do to help my brother or more, or what my brother can do currently to feel somewhat better. Also if you know any great Lyme charities to donate to please let me know!

Joy, you are a sweet sister. He is very lucky to have a good cheerleader in his corner. Lyme made me full of anxiety and depressed all at the same time. I don't think I was very fun to be around. I also got very different. I am a super happy, joking and goofing off wife and I think it scared my husband when I became so solemn. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. I didn't even want to go outside. My personality changed.

BUT, treatment and I got myself back. It took me awhile, but I just want you to know that it can be done.

As for fund raisers, gosh, I am of no help.

I can hear how much you want to help your brother, but you have to know that just listening to him is so very helpful. Lyme makes you feel so isolated. Someone that listens and tries to understand is the best medicine. The most wonderful thing my husband said to me when I was at my most horrible time was, "honey you are handling this so much better than I ever would." He made me feel so very strong and it made me push on and get even stronger.

Hang in there Joy and I mean it when I say, your brother is very lucky!

That's really kind of you. :) My brother calls a couple times a week just to check in. That helps a lot, because I do feel isolated too. I also had to quit driving for a few months, so if he's in that boat, offering to help him run an errand or take him to the park could be a big relief for him.

First know that seritonin is made in the gut ,he just wiped all that with antibiotic...watch under our skin on hulu together ..but watch the follow up ...also justinandcristie ....
Understand lyme robs everthing,dreams relationships $, its like the flu x1000 with very scary symptoms ...enjoy life while you can ..read success stories od david martz ,neil spector ,and success on here and the other forum. .tell him to do it all ,bvt ,rife ,herbs,mhbot ,iv whatever it takes..4 month in to bvt i am having some gains ..just installed port and tell myself depression ,twitches and anxiety muscle loss it is all not real...it is the bugs ...your brother is in there just being eaten...take pics ,go to park.cry with him ..he is gone and maybe reborn...does your mom have any sx ..do you..it can be congenital. ..my sister thinks she has arthritis and back disease and migraines. ..its has a cause..
on fundraiser there is gofundme ,throw a concert.sell his art?,create a blog and scream from hilltops..
