Igenex testing without doctor

I wanted my mother to get tested for Lyme disease and anaplasma, because last Fall she was bitten by a tick that tested positive for anaplasma.

Her PCP gave her the standard lyme disease test, which predictably came back negative. I had the same test by my PCP and it came back negative as well. The following week, my LLMD had gave me a different, more sensitive test which came back very positive for lyme.

So, I want my mother to get a more sensitive test for lyme, like Igenex. Is there a way for her to get this test, without going through a doctor? She doesn't want to pay the exorbitant price of seeing an LLMD and then also paying for the test. She also doesn't think her PCP will grant her the test.

I'd like to get her the Igenex test for anaplamsa and lyme, but I'd like to sidestep the doctor. I'm not sure if that's possible.

Yes, it is...there's a lab called Truehealth lab....if I'm remembering correctly.

I think the test is more than what Igenex charges...because you have to pay a fee for the lab...but I bet it's still cheaper than an initial LLMD consult fee.

I will look for the thread...If I can't find it soon tonight, I will look tomorrow...I'm tired...and my brain is not working so great...lol

Make sure you select the Igenex test.

So the WB IgM and IgG is about $360. It's $210 on the Igenex form.
So, hopefully the extra is for the lab fee.

But, most likely cheaper than paying $210 plus the LLMD appt.

Yep Girlie that is them.

I used True Health Labs for some other tests and found that they also do the Igenex test.

gfields, you just go onto their site and order the test. They have a doctor that signs the order and they send it to you. Just make sure you check the order and make sure everything is right. I had one test where the order was for the test I ordered and I had to get a second blood draw. They eventually did the right test but it was a bit of a hassle.

I don't know if they do the testing for anaplasma but you can check on their site.

There is a drop down that has the list of tests and last time I was on there one of the choices was Lyme tests and then you had a choice between Igenex and other generic tests.

The last time I was on there they weren't able to do testing for people in Canada but again that could have changed.

Yes there are two Anaplasma tests - one is an antibody test, the other is PCR
