No you don't need to separate the herbs from the antibiotics.
In fact the additional antimicrobial constituents in the herbs (there are many of them/herb, not just 1 as found in antibiotic monotherapy) will help prevent the development of resistance to the antibiotics you are taking.
Do take plenty of probiotics/fermented drinks/fermented vegetables at least 2 hours away from the herbs/antibiotics.
Buhner says that the antimicrobial herbs do not disturb gut flora, and we got away with supplementing only fermented vegetables/drinks while we were on the bartonella protocol. But the addition of CSA (from the babesia protocol) resulted in yeast overgrowth so we will use probiotics as well while on that particular herbal tincture.
