Ticks leaving welts

I pulled a little tick out of me this morning just above my waistline. It left a raised red welt the size of a quarter. this isn't the first time, but I don't often get this reaction, so it's concerning me of any possible significance. It's a little itchy, which makes me wonder if it's just a simple histamine reaction. Still can't help but worry about there being more to it than that.

I was going to take some benedryl, I don't have any. I have some other types of antihistamine intended for airborne allergic reactions that don't contain benedryl so don't know if they would help, or even if a histamine reaction in a case like this is necessarily a bad thing.

Welllll.....not really. I have no money to be seeing the LLMD here in Missouri but I've twisted my Internist'''s arm who is not interested in being Lyme literate into keeping me on abx so far, which is up to including Flagyl on the protocol sheet. Everything I've learned has been on line. He even rolled his eyes at me when I suggested getting re-tested now that it's been a year since my pos. RMSF test. I'm in the middle of the flagyl treatment. and I have the Augmentin here that I backed off from temporarily.

So I guess I AM in treatment, just no one else but you wonderful people to ask about this.

I have been bitten by too many ticks since moving to the 'country' 35 years ago it's impossible to keep track. Usually I can't tell if I'm being bit either unless it's a seed tick. Those tiny things hurt like the devil when they bite. I used to be able to feel them crawling on my legs or arms, but I have such bad neuropathy now I can't feel much of anything.

The welt, which I still have more than 8 hours later is a rather hard plaque like single raised area. Pretty much like one you might get if stung by a bumble bee. I don't have Astragalus, and at this time, no way to get any, so hopefully the abx will kill it.
