My 11 year old son is asymptomatic. He has completed 8 months of Cowden and seems to be doing great. A visit to our LLMD today and he did some electrodermal testing (?) which showed 10 strains of bugs, 3 of which were in the higher tier of activity on the results. Again, he is asymptomatic. LLMD suggested scaling back to just a few herbs targeted to the specific bugs (Babesia, Bartonella and Borellia).
Now my dilemma...when I told my husband that I went to the LLMD and did this test he went nuts and thinks the doctor is just trying to milk us for more $$. He hasn't bought into ANY of this Lyme/Herbal stuff. Aside from my fatigue/depression, our family has been fortunate to remain relatively asymptomatic (comparatively). I've been doing treatment for my kids as preventative but both did test positive.
My husband has watched Under our Skin 1 and 2. I've forced him to read articles about the devastation many have and are going through. This sounds wrong, but I've almost wanted something terrible to happen to me just so he would see it is REAL, but I can't take that risk with my child.
What am I to do? Fight my husband to continue treatment? Stop treatment and see what happens? It is his son too...I just feel like he doesn't understand. I fear if I get in too much in a uproar about this my own lyme symptoms with flare.
I'd love some insight. Thank you.
