carla - i'm sorry you're suffering with this....I know it's scary. I was scared, too. I thought I was going crazy...I thought I could possibly die from whatever I had....and I thought I was losing my mind at one point.
You won't feel better over night. But, if you concentrate on eating healthy, detoxing...little by little you will start to see improvements.
To distract myself, especially when I'm having a bad day psychologically...I will put on my music - really loud and distract myself. Then I will hold my kitty on my lap.
Do you have something that soothes you?
I also did meditation. I had never meditated before...didn't know what/how to do it.
